Teenage boy pleads not guilty to plotting terror attacks at London mosques
- A 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, has denied charges related to planning a terrorist attack on two mosques in Sutton, south London, and causing racially aggravated damage.
- He appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, sitting as a youth court, where he pleaded not guilty to preparing terrorist acts, allegedly motivated by an 'extreme right-wing ideology'.
- The court heard allegations that the boy identified targets, conducted reconnaissance, identified a weapon, and collected instructional material in preparation for attacks planned for 28 August.
- He also denied a charge of causing racially aggravated damage to property, specifically a car window, as part of an alleged plan nicknamed 'Operation Terrorise Sutton', which included 'bricking' and slashing tyres.
- The boy was remanded to youth detention and is scheduled to make his next appearance in custody at the Old Bailey on 21 August.
