Trump rages over war memorial vandalism: ‘NO GREATER INSULT’
- President Donald Trump has condemned the defacing of the National Second World War Memorial in Washington, where red spray paint and soap were dumped into its fountains.
- US Park Police are investigating after video footage appeared to show a woman spray-painting the memorial with the phrase "Clean hands Dirty $".
- "THERE CAN BE NO GREATER INSULT TO THOSE AMERICAN HEROES WHO DIED IN WORLD WAR II," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
- Trump linked the incident to alleged damage at the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool, which he maintains was also the result of vandalism.
- US Attorney Jeanine Pirro recently said in court filings that damage to the Reflecting Pool was due to a botched $14.7m renovation rather than vandalism.
